Printpack, a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging products, is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Mechanic at their Metallizing facility located in Villa Rica, Georgia and will report to the Maintenance Manager. Shift: 3/2 Shift, 7:00pm - 7:00am Scope: To effectively use mechanic skills to maintain equipment and keep machines operating successfully. Job Requirements: *High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. *Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint *Proficiency in using manual and power tools *Ability to trouble shoot/repair mechanical /hydraulic/pneumatic problems *Basic fabrication and machining skills *Use of precision measuring devices including micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, pye tape, etc. *Self-motivated and self-directed *Ability to read mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings *Ability to operate a forklift *Ability to operate a highlift *Ability to prioritize tasks and projects *Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding *Ability to pass a physical, drug screen, and background check Preferred Requirements: *Additional related training and/or certification preferred. Internal Candidates: *Last performance review must have been "meets Expectations" or better *No disciplinary actions beyond a written within the past 120 days Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain the successful operation of production machines according to priority Communicate with Operator and/or Lead to identify and understand symptoms of machine problem Diagnose root cause of problems with production equipment to determine best solution: electrical or mechanical Conduct Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures Perform required repairs Communicate actions taken to repair the machine to Operator and/or Lead Perform Preventive Maintenance Manage maintenance projects Document parts used, and repairs completed in the management system Function as a first responder for medical/first aid Function as a fire crew member Demonstrate knowledge of plant and process safety rules, safe operating methods, and good housekeeping standards.
