The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the facility, machinery and equipment including preventative maintenance and general repairs. Essential Job Functions Maintain an organized maintenance department with appropriate tools, supplies and inventory. Plan, schedule and ensure assignments are completed on time and in an orderly manner. Coordinate and perform general repairs/preventative maintenance including: electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, painting, carpentry, hydraulics, diesel and gasoline engines, pneumatic, and air compressors. Provide and oversee technical troubleshooting and coordination of repairs to critical equipment including: electrical distribution, electrical controls, circuit breakers, automatic transfer switches, generators, automation controls and HVAC equipment. Troubleshoot breakdowns to find the source and repair a large variety of equipment including: tuckers, forklifts, saws, power tools, mixers, blenders, drag conveyers, bucket elevators, tugs and loaders. Record and document all maintenance related activity per department policy and procedure through work orders. Develop standard operating procedures for the department to address process improvement, cost savings and safety. Work with the monthly budget and maintain PO log for all material ordered. Maintain a live and current work order database. Review equipment checklists daily for any identified equipment issues. Maintain SPCC Emergency Spill kits. Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program. Non-Essential Job Functions Perform unexpected maintenance which may arise. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Five (5) years of maintenance experience or equivalent education in a manufacturing/production environment required. Strong organizational, leadership and project management skills preferred. Previous demonstrated experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Experience with diesel engines preferred. Ability to read and understand electrical prints, diagrams, blueprints, charts and technical repair manuals.
