Loader Position Functional Summary Reporting to the Foreman, the Loader Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Loader (AKA Knuckle Truck or Claw Boom). This position operates loaders equipped with front-mounted hydraulically powered claw which is used to transport debris. Typical day is from 7am until 5pm or 8am until 6pm, though times can vary. Key Responsibilities Operate the Loader and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Pick up tree and landscape debris with Loader, consolidate debris piles while loading, rake and blow after pile is picked up and drive the loader to a natural debris dump and dumb the debris. Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment. Operate Loader on public or private roadways, maintaining proper awareness of one�s surroundings. Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the Loader. Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the Loader when needed. Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company�s Code of Ethics . Work at all times while at job site � pull branches, rake, blow, load up the debris and operate loader. Required High School Diploma or G.E.D. Class B Driver�s License (Class A preferred) Able to drive a 12 speed manual 3 years minimum experience driving a CDL Class B Dump Truck or Roll Off Dumpster Truck or Boom Truck, etc. Minimum 2 to 3 years� experience in the tree service industry or construction Experience with hydraulics Must have a working cell phone Must have a clean driving record Safety and Teamwork Promote, execute and adhere to the company�s Safety Program , and encourage all workers to adopt safety as a culture. Attend safety meetings and inspections as needed. Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the well-being of others. Must be in communication during and outside of business hours. Some Saturdays. Overtime as required. Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity. Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis. Must comply with the company�s drug and alcohol testing requirements. Must pass background check and drug tests.
