The Regional Marketing Head is the key role that ensures that globally developed strategy for the Business Segment of responsibility is tailored and implemented in the (R) OPUs consistent with global guardrails. This role utilizes deep knowledge of the Business Segment to drive executional excellence through comprehensive knowledge of the BuSe (customers, overall industry, and its competitors), BI’s governance model and works in collaboration with CE and RBMs. This role has direct influence in the determination of global strategy through advisory loops back into Global that are fundamental for the current and future success of the business segment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Looking at the organizational levels for BI Animal Health, this role is located on the “Regional” level. The Regional level is accountable for translating the global strategy, defined in the “Global” level, into tailored local go-to-market models. Strategic decisions and global guardrails are taken and defined on the “Global” level. The “Regional” level is responsible to ensure that local implementation of the translated global strategy is implemented within the globally defined guardrails; deviations require “Global” approval. All responsibilities for “Regional” roles are to be to be conducted in compliance with the GCO Governance Model

  • Business Segment Portfolio Strategy tailoring: Works with the (R)OPUs to provide critical advice to successfully tailor strategies for BuSe, ensuring that it is within the global framework; focuses on excellence in execution of all global / regional projects and launches; provides input into (R)OPU talent management

  • Marketing Planning & Implementation: Advises and leads, in alignment and cooperation with the Head of Region and the SBU Global counterpart(s), the execution of marketing objectives and strategies for the Region; develops relevant marketing platforms and executes region-wide BuSe campaigns, with purposeful differentiation based on portfolio and category strategies

  • Brand Stewardship: Ensures implementation of brand activities in accordance to the brand identity and guidelines process i.e. consumer promotion materials, POS, regional PR materials, social content; plays and active role in cross pollination, best practice sharing and disseminations of assets to local marketing partners

  • Brand Planning: For the respective BuSe, leads the process in the region, in alignment with the global brand planning process. Identifies areas for improvement

  • New Product Launch and Commercialization Plan development and execution support: leads product launch and supports commercialization through the region, in collaboration with CE and RBM and serves as the BuSe point-person; together with CE and RBM, monitor globally defined KPIs for commercialization, and contributes BuSe review of forecast to consolidate plan for RBM

  • Integrated Marketing Plan and Execution: works closely with global SBU to influence and advise on global strategy; collaborates with global SBU to manage the overall integrated marketing planning process; contributes to local BuSe through advice / consultation on setting goals for GTM models (with RBM and CE)

  • Business Performance: regularly conduct in depth analysis of market trends, maintain current knowledge of brand performance, review competition to issue recommendations to optimize local action plan; provide input into (R) OPU talent management


  • University degree from an accredited institution required; Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MSc) desirable

  • Strong finance executive acumen

  • Experience in customer facing commercial organization

  • International experience

  • Strong experience across marketing spectrum (from launch to rationalization and LCM)

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PPT essential)

  • Executional excellence and leadership to translate global strategy into regions

  • Persuasiveness & influence to successfully advise

  • Strong analytical thinking, action planning and organizing

  • Strategic thinking, creativity and problem-solving

  • Project and process management skills

  • Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly

  • Excellent communicator both written and verbal
