Respiratory Therapist Overview
Our Registered Respiratory Therapist works is responsible for medication administration and implementing respiratory care based on expanded knowledge and experience. Responsible for delivering patient care in complex, multiple problem-patient care situations. The majority of time is in critical care areas with significant independent decision-making and self-direction. Additionally, our RRT is responsible for patient, family/support system education, coordination of activities, staff development, and professional and self-developmental activities. Patient care is provided with an understanding and awareness of population specific needs; addressing the biological, emotional, and developmental, psychosocial, and patient/family education needs when providing care to the patient. Also participates in the education of new employees and others.
Successful performance of this job will require a close working relationship with the Medical staff and Respiratory Care Leadership. Good customer relation, assessment, and communication skills are necessary.
Graduate of an AMA approved training program in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Sciences - B.S. degree preferred
NBRC credential as an advanced level RRT Respiratory Care Professional and an active GA Respiratory Care Professional License
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from American Heart Association required
Must have a minimum of one year of experience, preferable in both neonatal and adult critical are areas
Five years of critical care/ventilator experience preferred
