Job Title: Operations Manager Department: MSG Location: Carrollton, Ga Report To: Plant Manager Summary Through personal leadership, the Operations Manager ensures that a positive and productive working environment is created and maintained. Provides continuous leadership and direction for improvement in the areas of quality, service, and cost through Operational Perfection @ Southwire culture. Develop and direct a strong management team and work effectively through them to ensure that OPS objectives are met and exceeded. Description of Duties and Responsibilities Operations: Be familiar with ISO and Wire & Cable quality system procedures and work instructions. Review operating goals and standards and monitor achievement. Must focus daily on continuous improvement in the areas of safety, quality, waste, velocity, and material usage. Management: Positively lead personnel to achieve prescribed objectives. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques in leading, supervising, and coaching employees. Equipment/Safety: Monitor the cleanliness and working condition of all equipment and oversee adjustments and/or repairs as necessary. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety in accordance with OSHA and other appropriate standards. Housekeeping: Review operations to ensure the plant is clean, well-organized, and that damage to product equipment and the facility is prevented. Qualifications and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree along with 3+ years' leadership experience in a manufacturing environment desired Preferred mechanical, machining, and welding knowledge. Broad knowledge of plant operations technology is necessary. A broad range of management skills is required with particular emphasis on leadership, supervision, motivation, communication, and planning. Must have excellent verbal and written skills along with exceptional impersonal skills. Must be PC literate and have a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
