Your role and responsibilities Job Summary - Responsible for providing strategic and tactical leadership to the engineering department. Develops and executes processes that provide world class solutions for our customers needs. Works closely with end customers and sales to develop custom systems, which will satisfy all requirements for ease of operation, reliability, and safety as well as meeting all agreed specifications. Participates as a member of the senior site management team to develop strategies and goals for the overall site. Works closely with the sales and applications teams to ensure we are providing world class solutions to satisfy customer needs. In collaboration with Operations, designs equipment that allows efficient manufacturing of quality products. Works closely with procurement to ensure product designs are using similar and cost effective components where practical. Supervises engineering staff to ensure they have the resources and structure to effectively satisfy the needs of both external and internal customers. Participates in the recruitment and selection of employees. Conducts performance appraisals and works with the Site Manager to develop annual goals for the department. Works closely with Operations and Finance to develop a consistent framework to structure BOMs and routings. What is required for this role 4 year BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. 5 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. 3 years supervising technical staff.
