Responsible for project safety accountability programs, accident and fire protection programs and maintaining full compliance with company, client and state/federal safety regulations. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Job sites inspections Perform continual random construction and service jobsite visits on a weekly basis. Inspections are performed for new industrial and commercial construction and existing tenant up fit inspections. Inspections are for enforcement of OSHA 1910 and 1926 Code of Federal/State Regulations and Company Safety Policy. Generate reports through SafetyNet or other format as determined by Safety Director to include specific violations with corrections to abate hazards. Review reports with Project Managers and/or Department Managers and/or Job General Contractors or other related trade or company. Stop The Job immediately if imminent danger is presented by uncontrolled hazards and coordinate correction/resolution of hazard(s). Other inspections are done by request from employees, project management, department management, and OSHA Compliance and Consulting walkthroughs. Assist Project Managers Job Safety Preplanning Work with Project Manager to pre-determine needs for job and workers prior to job start through Job Safety Analysis. Address needs for required certifications, project site orientation, safety training, or standards review to avoid delay and/or violations after job start. Participate in project look-ahead meetings with PMs and Foremen as well as any GC-required safety meetings associated with the project. Mobile Equipment and Tools Inspections Inspect mobile equipment for proper material handling and transporting as well as operational items related to safety (i.e. tires, lights, and signage). Create, implement and monitor a monthly equipment and tools inspection program (i.e. color code program). Ensure all pre-shift inspections are completed and documented, as needed. Partner with PM and Foremen to coordinate all equipment/tool follow-up procedures to correct out-of-service items. Perform inspections consisting of job use items such as PPE, ladders, welding rigs, etc. Enforcement of OSHA standards, McKenney's and Safety Program Expectations * Coordinates all at-risk observations and corrective action processes for McKenney's personnel and subcontractors (SafetyNet and Risk Elimination Cards)* Coordinates all incentive programs and disciplinary processes with project leadership* Establishes a continuous improvement plan to introduce new - or improve upon existing - risk reduction programs across the project for McKenney's field personnel and subcontractors* Consult all project employees to assist in job planning, task compliance, and employee safety. Use McKenney's Safety Absolutes disciplinary program to issue warnings related to Safety Absolute infractions for all work performed by jobsite employees. Monitor all operations to run under OSHA standards as a minimum with company policies concurring and exceeding normal standards.
