Description Job Expectations: Estimating man hours and materials needed to competitively bid both traditional and design-build projects Develop scopes of work associated with subcontracts and process equipment Provide constructability and value engineering reviews of design documents during all phases of the project Develop and lead project estimates, with integrated support of other estimates resources Demonstrated exposure to all aspects of the project delivery process Interfacing with vendors and subcontractors Develop and maintain customer relationships throughout the project Change order negotiation as needed Desired Skills and Experience: Associates degree or technical school certificate (BSEE or BSET preferred) 10 years' minimum estimating experience inclusive of a broad set of disciplines including Civil, Mechanical, Structural, Architectural and some Electrical estimating, with an emphasis on Water/Wastewater. Experience in developing complete project scopes of work and associated competitive pricing utilizing proposal phase engineering document and functional scopes of supply in development of a complete cost model Proven ability to work independently under remote supervision with project managers, project design teams and other estimators located in multiple regions of the country Extensive knowledge of water and wastewater plant and process engineering practice, conventions and associated sequences of construction Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Outlook, Word and Excel) and Sage Construction and Real Estate 300 estimating software (formerly Timberline Estimating Software) Familiarity with RS Means databases Working knowledge of Primavera P6 Scheduling Software and ability to develop proposal and planning phase construction schedules is highly desirable Currently hold or eligible to obtain AACE certification as a Certified Estimating Professional, Certified Cost Engineer (CCE), Certified Cost Consultant (CCC), or ASPE certification as a Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) within one year, highly desired. Previous construction management background highly preferred, must understand construction sequencing and ability to detail work break down structures (WBS), previous construction scheduling experience. Understanding of different project delivery methods and estimating based on delivery method Ability to perform constructability reviews Ability to coordinate the objectives of all stakeholders towards a positive outcome Hands-on computer skills and ability to interpret CAD drawings Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills Ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment For more than 70 years, Brown and Caldwell has been creating leading-edge environmental solutions for public agencies and private industry.
