Boys & Girls Clubs of America Resource Development Specialist in Atlanta, Georgia
Under the supervision of the Regional Vice President of Development, the Resource Development Specialist (Southeast & Midwest) is a key member of the development team, managing duties like tracking financials (revenue and expenses), as well as projects that directly and indirectly bolster the annual fundraising effort like the Regional Youth of the Year Dinners and Salon events. The position will interface with Trustees throughout the year and be responsible for tracking ongoing engagement efforts in support of the Board of Governor’s plan for Trustee Recruitment and Engagement. This position will interface with internal and external constituents of BGCA and support a team of five.
Provide primary administrative support to Regional Vice President, Development (Southeast & Midwest).
Provide calendar management, “live voice” phone coverage, scheduling meetings with BGCA staff, potential and current donors, Trustees and others as needed.
Develop SOP for event fundraising committees and updates for events in the region.
Monitor regions Resource Development budget.
Provide confidential communication and interactions with and on behalf of the Regional Vice President, Development.
Draft correspondence, including acknowledgment records for the Regional Vice President of Development (Southeast & Midwest).
Proofread presentations, solicitations, letters and other documents for content, grammar and accuracy; format presentations.
Prepare minutes and correspondence from meetings (department, committees and trustee).
Participate and manage event committee calls, actively participate in calls and produce minutes within 24 hours after the call.
Coordinate contracts with Resource Development Operations.
Function as a team player and providing the utmost in professionalism and cooperation.
Under direction of the Regional Vice President of Development, create systems to manage, track and report on all aspects of Trustee engagement and giving. Implement a system that the other regions can replicate.
Coordinate volunteer participation with individual Governors and Trustees as requested by the Regional Vice President of Development, building personal relationships with each volunteer and their staff.
Manage and direct Volunteers for events.
Customize Trustee materials: handbooks, board books and individual concept papers.
Collect information for monthly Trustee updates.
Coordinate participation and logistics of trustee meetings.
Develop and maintain computer based tracking systems in donor database of record
Work closely with Operations Director to streamline data-entry systems.
Oversee regional transmittal process.
Manage corporate & foundation transmittals.
Develop and participate in event RSVP and follow-up for all regional events and meetings.

No direct reports. May monitor and coordinate the work of temporary employees and student interns.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field or education/ experience equivalency.
Minimum of at least two years of experience or more preferably in development. Candidate must have experience with: interfacing with high level volunteers/donors, prospect research and cultivation efforts, report generation utilizing a CRM system, data entry/analysis, project management, and determining and providing administrative support.
Ability to organize, balance and implement work flow to provide proactive administrative support.
Exemplary planning and time management skills are critical.
Strong communications skills, demonstrating flexibility and an ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated high standards of ethics and integrity.
Excellent composition, proofreading, and editing skills.
Have the ability to make judgement calls on workload priority in a thoughtful and strategic manner.
Intermediate Microsoft Office and donor database (Luminate preferred) skills a must. Use independent judgment, discretion, and sensitivity in dealing with confidential information. Take a leadership role in onboarding new Coordinator’s on the team.
A self-starter, able to anticipate needs and devise solutions.
Able to be a support to staff that travel 70% or greater of the time and/or virtual via telecommute.
Ability to manage multiple tasks with varying deadlines.
Exchange – clearly and concisely – ideas, facts and/or technical information, and guidance, in person, by telephone, fax, email or correspondence.
Physical requirements include: sight, hearing, sitting for six + hours a day, standing, stooping; skills essential for successful communications include speaking, writing and reading comprehension.
