As Global Pursuits Group (GPG) Pursuits Strategist (PS) Assistant Director, you will act as a project manager, when leading the development of proposal and meeting collateral for campaigns. Working alongside the GPG Business Development/Pursuit Leader (BD/PL) and the Client Service Pursuit Leader, you will develop winning communication strategies. These will demonstrate the team's understanding of the client, showcase the team and the firm's credentials, and highlight specific responses to known client needs.
Although you will report directly to the Director of Global Pursuits, you will have considerable autonomy, and will share accountability for the success or failure of a pursuit.
Lead the development of proposal and meeting collateral during the full cycle of the pursuit. Help strategically analyze the opportunity, by understanding client issues and opportunities. Create a communication strategy around EY's value proposition
Attend and contribute ideas during all preparation meetings for a pursuit (kick-off strategy, status, follow-up/debrief, and oral/site visit)
Contribute to overall strategy development, devising key themes and messages to support the campaign. Establish the proposal process, timeline and procedures to meet the needs of a specific pursuit
Keep BD/PL and Pursuit team regularly informed of timelines, expectations and challenges. Build relationships with local practice area and BD professionals
Interview client servers, to evaluate business issues and service responses, to meet potential clients' needs. Assign sections of the proposal to appropriate contributors
Direct strategic and tactical development of collateral, utilizing the Center for Business Knowledge (CBK) knowledge management resources. Use Region resources for research, word processing or administrative tasks
Monitor progress of all pursuit team members. Confirm they are meeting deadlines and quality standards, including final proofing, and delivery of materials to the client
Rewrite and customize all proposal sections (which often come from disparate sources), to confirm readability, and consistency of message and tone. Coordinate editing and proofing
Review final production materials, so that message quality, format and content meet client needs, and are consistent with firmwide communication guidelines. Confirm that all pursuit collateral
Interact directly with clients when needed, to act as a knowledge steward and communications specialist. Produce winning pursuit strategies, by defining a relevant value proposition and communications strategy to support the pursuit
To qualify, candidates must have:
Broad-based experience in marketing and/or sales, and an understanding of the business issues of the companies targeted
Outstanding written and verbal communication
A minimum of 7 years related experience
Demonstrated project management experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, preferably in a related field such as English, Public Communications, or Journalism; Master's degree preferred
