The Atlanta Community Food Bank is a nonprofit organization supplying food and grocery items to over 600 partner agencies serving families and individuals in 29 metro Atlanta and North Georgia counties.

Position Description

This position is responsible for pulling, staging, and delivering orders to our agencies. Effective and safe operation of all equipment, as well as maintaining a clean, safe work environment is required. The Order Puller contributes additional work as deemed necessary and appropriate by ACFB management and performs additional tasks as assigned. This position reports directly to Operations Supervisor.

Purposes, Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Pull orders as directed through the pull order system.

a) Verify USDA/SNAP counts on orders for other team members.

b) Pull orders in refrigerated/frozen storage areas

c) Complete audit count sheets accurately

  1. Fulfillment by accurately delivering orders to the customers at the Shopping Floor dock.

a) Verify counts and ensure orders are signed by the customer

b) Accurately record weights of purchased floor items

c) Ensure the shopping floor area is organized

  1. Follows general safe work practices as well as those specific to the ACFB

a) Inspects warehouse equipment for proper and safe operation prior to using

b) Follows defined maintenance routines for equipment

  1. Maintains excellent housekeeping in all Distribution areas at all times.

  2. Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.


  1. Education

a) Must be able to read and write at a High School level.

b) Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Office, and Outlook).

  1. Required qualifications

a) Minimum one (1) years warehouse experience.

b) Must be a certified or licensed forklift operator; ability to lift boxes (approx. 40 pounds) and work in varying temperatures.

c) Must have pick or pull order experience.

d) Must be comfortable working in warehouse environment with varying temperatures

e) Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with a diverse workgroup.

f) Must have good oral and written communication skills and use good judgment.

  1. Preferred qualifications

a) High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

b) Forklift certification is a plus, but is required by the completion of a 90-day probation period.

c) The ability to operate various types of warehouse equipment is a plus.

Physical Demands

Often required to lift and transport heavy items. There is frequent bending, stooping, reaching, climbing and walking. Required to drive a forklift and operate warehouse equipment. Evening and weekend work may be required. This position would normally have routine opportunities to alter physical position or change eye focus. Lifting should not normally exceed 70 pounds. No travel is required in this position
