Delta Air Lines, Inc. Electrical Design Engineer III in Atlanta, Georgia
This is a position for employment at a Delta Air Lines wholly-owned subsidiary, Delta Flight Products; not Delta Air Lines.
Leader of Electrical Engineers I & II - Responsible for electrical systems and equipment design of complex aircraft interior and entertainment system modifications.
Perform research and surveys to determine the best methods to modify aircraft to accomplish project statements of work.
Design new electrical parts, assemblies and installations defining aircraft modifications.
Perform electrical analysis and substantiation of new parts and installations.
Produce engineering drawings, reports, material lists and work instructions to document & install aircraft modifications.
Provide engineering checks of data produced by peer groups or other project participants.
Provide technical support during manufacturing and installation of aircraft modifications.
Interface with customers, suppliers and other project stakeholders pertaining to modification projects.
Provide guidance and oversight to engineering peer group, and mentor new engineers to operate within departmental practices and procedures.
Provide statements of work, cost estimates, completion schedules and other project administrative inputs.
Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 8 - 10 yrs. Aviation related experience; or
Master's degree in Engineering with 6-9 yrs. Aviation related experience; or
Ph.D. in Engineering with 4 yrs. Of applied engineering experience; or
10 - 15 yrs. In a technical aviation related discipline with 4 - 6 yrs. In an aviation engineering organization
B.S. in engineering or related scientific field. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
Eight (8) years overall work experience, two (2) of which in a design engineering role.
Must have strong computer skills and demonstrate proficiency with 2D CAD systems and MS Office programs.
Must have strong knowledge of aircraft interior cabin electrical, avionics and/or entertainment systems design processes, materials, fabrication methods and aerospace hardware.
Must possess working knowledge of substantiation techniques and FAA regulatory requirements.
Must be able to effectively utilize aircraft continued airworthiness data.
Must be organized and an effective project manager, presenting good communication skills and a professional appearance.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
