RD&E Interns operate within the Research, Development and Engineering group in Alpharetta, Georgia. This position supports all business units of a globally diversified technology/service company, creating a dynamic, challenging, and varied work environment. Challenge yourself to create innovative custom solutions that suit our customer's medical device and infection control needs. This position will entail a variety of engineering work with a focus on new product development. This includes product design, project management, analysis, component and system level testing, manufacturing transfer, and post launch support. Main Responsibilities: Participate in the design and development of new medical devices Perform research, design and testing for improvement and development of new and current products Ensure compliance with design criteria and standards Test, evaluate and analyze systems to determine or prove performance and reliability Identify and evaluate technologies to advance the performance and reliability of existing and new products Work closely with and under the direction of staff engineers Basic Qualifications: Pursuit of BS or MS in Mechanical, Biomedical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship, now or in the future Preferred Qualifications: Excellent analytical and decision making skills Experience with material characterization, product design and analysis tools Experience developing test procedures, methods and execution Effective oral communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team while handling multiple tasks Demonstrated leadership skills Ecolab is an EOE � M/F/V/D
