Kforce has a client seeking a Performance & Modeling Software Engineer in Alpharetta, Georgia (GA).Overview:The PEM team is responsible for driving all aspects of asset creation, tool creation, and test engineering as well enabling sales teams to size storage arrays appropriate for customer environment. These tools utilize a storage performance database derived from measurements and simulations. In this role you will also be involved early in the lifecycle on new products to review requirements and to ensure products are testable and will meet our customer's needs. In addition, you will also be responsible for improving the overall capabilities of the test team through test automation, and other test methods.This Performance & Modeling Software Engineer will be responsible for developing code that enhances current features, and enables new feature functionality in the system performance model and simulations.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent

  • Typically, 6-10 years of experience

  • Java development skills at a mastery level for modeling, and ability to collaborate/pair with incumbent modeling developer; Java will also be useful in understanding and working with QA tools which are written in Java

  • C/C for general familiarity with systems programming, and understanding how compilers, memory management, and the stack work; C specifically for performance-sensitive or large-scale data processing development; Also, useful in understanding and working with the modeling tools and API, which are written in C

  • Experience with REST and other APIs; versatility in learning, developing and using APIs

  • Automation skills with a preference for proven skills scripting in Python, applied to various elements of the development environment including, but not limited to modeling, and simulation runs

  • Bash skills, at least at a basic level

  • Solid foundation of knowledge in data architecture

  • Extensive experience with multiple software systems design tools and languages

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Experience in overall architecture of software systems for products and solutions

  • Designing and integrating software systems running on multiple platform types into overall architecture

  • Evaluating forms and processes for software systems testing and methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools
