The Accounting Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing and maintenance of all accounting procedures associated with paying healthcare professionals and billing clients for the hours worked or expenses incurred by a provider on a locum tenens assignment. The Accounting Specialist has responsibility over a specific area such as customer contract review and processing, transactional services, invoicing and commissions. Process Service Records correctly and timely, build and process Accounts payable batches, process pay correctly and timely, process billing correctly and timely, process/upload W9 and Direct Deposits, Process Client Deposit Billing, Process 120 Reports, Process Commission Statements, Review margin audits, review billable reconciliation, process California Withholding. Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES Assumes responsibility for the effective performance of payroll functions: Analyzing and reconciling detailed general ledger accounts as assigned. Keeping records and accounts accurate and current. Researching and resolving discrepancies and accounting errors. Completing related reports, summaries, and records. Creating monthly expense reports. Sets up new contractors in the accounting system. Receives personnel reports with W-4 and direct deposit information, enters job title, department, and payroll data into the accounting system, and checks entries for accuracy. Other duties assigned. Requirements Education/Certification:Bachelor's degree preferred or relative work experience. Required Knowledge: Knowledge of basic accounting concepts and procedures including account reconciliation. Basic knowledge of office applications and accounting software. Experience Required: 1-2 years of previous payroll and/or accounts payable experience preferred Strong analytical and technical skills Staffing agency experience preferred Great Plains experience helpful Jackson Healthcare and its family of companies is an EEO/AA Employer.
