In this vital role as a Manufacturing Facilities Engineer, you will have daily interaction with Engineering, TQM, Production and Maintenance, you will participates in the commissioning of plant facilities and the turnover to production. Review and ensure the completion of "as built" documents for assigned structures and systems and quality standards while also ensuring compliance to all required governmental laws and Environmental, Health and Safety standards. You will actively pursue continuous improvement of our facilities and utilities (the design, construction, installation and operation of facilities) and maintain equipment (chillers, boilers, cooling towers, water chillers, plumbing, air compressors and dryers and HVAC units). The focus should be on optimization, both for energy savings and reliability, as well as identifying opportunities to improve the process and procedures, to ensure that REI remains competitive, in an ever changing environment. Occassionally your will have interactions with vendors, consultants and other external parties to obtain technical information and specifications and may represent functional areas on task forces, requiring the need to gain cooperation and influence others. Prepares and delivers presentations. Researches, evaluates and recommends technologies and best practices to increase the efficacy or reduce the cost of facilities operations. Recommends facilities maintenance programs for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and waste water treatment systems and services. Plans, schedules and supervises activities performed by in-house and contracted personnel to ensure adherence to program requirements. Prepares engineering drawings and design computations for moderately-complex to complex facility systems that comply with sound engineering practices and building codes. Researches and applies best engineering methods and practices. Develops methods for and/or conducts facility audits including inspecting facilities, identifying existing and potential issues, initiating corrective action and monitoring maintenance program enforcement. Estimates material and labor costs and construction/installation time for assigned structures and systems.
