Instructs assigned clients through development of a structured classroom environment that will promote intellectual, emotional and social growth. Plans and implements instructional programs for clients with emotional and behavioral disorders.
Program Delivery Plans, develops, and revises classroom curriculum to meet the physical, emotional, creative and educational needs of assigned students.
Organizes class programs by preparing lessons and course outlines.
Utilizes appropriate instructional methods, such as lectures, demonstrations, audio-visual presentations, etc.
Evaluates students' level of proficiency in order to prescribe suitable programming and evaluates their progress in meeting educational and social goals by testing, observation, behavior rating scales, and other means, as appropriate.
Communicates effectively with parents, outside school districts, and related community contacts while guarding each student's right of confidentiality.
Therapeutic Environment Establishes a classroom environment conducive to maximum academic and social learning by maintaining order and guiding students to socially appropriate behavior.
Supervises students during school-related activities (class trips, extra-curricular activities, meals, etc.), as assigned.

Bachelor degree in relevant field and state special education certification required.
Two years experience teaching in a Special Education classroom.
