POSITION SUMMARY:Responsible for transporting patients to and from hospitals, nursing homes and medical facilities. Delivering high quality patient care and customer service within the prescribed scope of practice, established protocols, and company policies. All EMT applicants must possess current certification in accordance with the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains thorough familiarity with treatment protocols, response requirements and quality assurance procedures.
Maintains awareness of any and all changes in the system components and company policy.
Maintains the level and type of certification(s) consistent with performing duty tasks.
Complies with all state and company requirements for operation of motor vehicle.
Operates a company vehicle in accordance with company policy and safe practices.
Develops ability to quickly and safely locate addresses through knowledge of number systems and street layouts.
Ensures that unit remains in a state of readiness in terms of mechanical reliability, medical supply and equipment, cleanliness and appearance standards.
Reports immediately to the Manager any discrepancies in vehicle or equipment standards that could compromise the unit’s ability to complete a call.
Completes all appropriate documentation as outlined in company policy.
Reports all problems and unusual occurrences immediately to the Manager.
Maintains a professional appearance by adhering to hygiene and uniforms standards.
Attends all mandatory in-service training
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT
Employee is required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers, reach with hands and arms, feel, see, talk and hear. Employee will assist in lifting and / or transferring patients weighing between 100 to 300 pounds. Employee is occasionally exposed to blood or other bodily fluids, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
HS Diploma or equivalent
Emergency Medical Technician training and certification as required by State of Georgia
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/CPR) certification for all EMT levels
State Driver’s License
Driving record in compliance with Ambu-Stat’s safety and driving record (3-year report)
All EMT’s must have a clean driver’s license to meet insurance requirements
Certified Georgia EMT-I, Valid C.P.R. Card, clean driver’s record
EMT’s must possess necessary certifications according to State of GA
Must submit to and pass drug/alcohol testing to include a background investigation as well as a physical and pass.
Some past work experience preferably, but we will train.
