Service Area Overview: Diabetes & Nutrition Services at Northside Hospital offers the communities who count on us for comprehensive diabetes, nutrition, and weight management services. The focus of our efforts? To helppeople with diabetes learn more about their disease while developing the skills needed to make healthy lifestyle changes. It’s these life-long changes that work to minimize the risk of complications fromdiabetes and while empowering patients and educating families.Patients are supported by our multidisciplinary team approach to nutrition which includes interactionswith registered dietitians, clinical exercise physiologists, and other health specialists. Our program is accredited by the American Diabetes Association. Position Description: The Clinical Dietitian will be responsible for preparing and implementing nutritional care plans for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in accordance with departmental policy and standards of care. Prioritizes patients at high risk using the dietitian census report, glucose report, albumin report and NST report. Initiate supplements, snacks, calorie counts and consistency changes as part of the patient's continuity of care. Acts as a liaison between the Nutritional Services Department and the Medical Staff, Nursing Staff and other Ancillary Departments. Responsibilities involve providing nutritional counseling to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, families, and others as requested and providing community education when needed. May provide lectures and cooking demonstrations for community outreach programs.

Position Requirements: B.S. degree in Foods and Nutrition, plus Dietetic Internship or equivalent training. Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association. Must be a Registered Dietitian in the State of Georgia and have a Current licensure as a Dietitian in the State of Georgia.
