Manages activities within area of expertise through individual contributors and/or managers to ensure all tax liabilities for multiple legal entities across multiple jurisdictions are met in a timely and accurate manner.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops, leads, manages and motivates staff.
Ensures the accurate and timely preparation and filing of federal, state and local tax returns as well as all other areas of tax compliance in adherence with applicable tax laws.
Develops policy, governance, and standards.
Participates in strategy and business plan development.
Monitors staff performance, works with Human Resources on issues, works with employees to implement goals and document progress.
Maintains expert knowledge of tax laws, updates, and revisions and informs senior management of issues affecting FIS.
Reviews proposals for tax implications and recommends actions that meet business plans while managing tax liability.
Anticipates potential tax filing conflicts and resolves before returns are filed (i.e. acquisitions, fixed purchase option leases, etc.).
Manages schedules and performance standards within area managed.
Performs other related duties assigned as needed.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field from an accredited four-year college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience as required for specific job level. Due to continual changes in tax regulations, continuing education is required.

Communicates ideas and/or position on a variety of issues both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise, and professional manner to employees and clients at all levels Entry level managerial role - manages the coordination of the activities of a section within the department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Provides guidance to team members within latitude of established company policies and handles all employee-related issues (i.e. annual and interim reviews, goal setting and merit increases and if necessary employee actions). Escalates and works with Human Resources on employee-related performance issues to determine corrective action plans. Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect group. Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. Follows processes and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Acts as advisor to team members in meeting schedules and/or resolving problems. Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements, and may have budget responsibilities. Typically requires a minimum of 5 to 7 years of tax management experience.
