Battelle’s Technical On-site Professional Services (TOPS) is a part of the Contract Research business within Battelle providing laboratory support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We are currently seeking a Systems Administrator specifically with Pilgrim SmartSolve expertise. The position is within the Office of the Associate Director for Laboratory Science and Safety (OADLSS) based on the CDC Roybal Campus in Atlanta, GA.

TOPS is committed to continuous improvements in laboratory science and safety, as well as the quality of its public health laboratory services. As such, TOPS will work with OADLSS to provide oversight of laboratory programs. The establishment of the Offices of Laboratory Science and Safety within OADLSS will further enhance the laboratory quality management system (QMS) and safety programs agency-wide. With services such as reporting and analysis, protocol review, training resources, quality management and accreditation support, and laboratory science and innovation, these offices will lead continuous improvement, making CDC the model for scientific excellence and safety. Relocation support is not available for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop implementation plan and roadmap of Pilgrim SmartSolve within a QMS

  • Coordinate with Pilgrim and business user to identify all design, and development requirements

  • Liaise with Pilgrim and CDC related IT for trouble shooting system issues

  • Provide support to the design and implementation of the Document Control process

  • Manage and coordinate Change Control Board and process

  • Manage integration with other CDC systems Provide backup and recovery assistance

  • Manage SmartSolve help desk activities

  • Manage annual renewals for database expirations

  • Train new system users or facilitate train-the-trainer

THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:

  • B.S. in position related subject matter.

  • Proven experience of 2 to 5 years in the development/use of software packages specifically Pilgrim SmartSolve or similar to be used in a quality environment.

  • Direct experience in standard software programs (MS Word, Excel etc.)

  • Must be willing to work in a dynamic team environment

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:

  • Master's Degree with 0-2 year's experience

  • An understanding of ISO standards specifically ISO 17025
