AIG has an opportunity for a South Zone Construction Leader who will be responsible for maintaining a Construction Property book of business with key broker partners around the region, marketing our construction property products which consists of Broker and Client engagement and relationship building/networking and fostering relationships with other AIG divisions in order to collaborate and cross-sell to our advantage.
The key responsibilities of this position are as follows:
• Underwrite assigned risks; generally has greater underwriting authority and handles large Fortune 1000 accounts. • Plan, manage, evaluate and grow a book of business. • Build and execute on a personal strategy for P&L management of their book of business, including setting up broker plans, target account lists & pipelines. • Ability to seek out and secure new and profitable business. • Manage and develop effective producer and client relationships throughout assigned territory. • Work alongside marketing department to effectively cross-sell the company's offerings. • Effectively negotiate and secure policy terms that align with the company directives. • Develop and manage underwriting strategies for both renewals and prospects within his/her portfolio of accounts, including knowledge of the current penetration by product, cross marketing penetration by product and specific plans to increase company share.
The Ideal Candidate Should Have: • Minimum 5 years experience underwriting Construction risks. • Ideal candidate would have Property Loss Control background and/or construction experience. • Relationships with 1st and 2nd tier brokers in the South Zone and knowledge of complex & master builders risk programs. • Strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on collaboration and working well with others • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook necessary
