As a Senior Director of Strategy you will focus on identifying and pursuing the most compelling new growth opportunities that will help Aaron’s double its business in the next three-to-five years. Aaron’s Inc., while known for its best-in-class retail business, is approaching 50% in total revenue from consumer financing activities and other businesses more akin to financial services than to retail. You will work side-by-side with the VP Strategy (to whom this role reports), the CEO, CFO, and the entire Aaron’s executive team in taking the business to the next level.

Develop and lead strategic, tactical, and operational initiatives which directly support our business transformation and expansion plans in new and existing markets
Lead cross-functional teams to optimize critical business processes (e.g., product warranties and service, IT portfolio management)
Be a thought partner and catalyst for new opportunities that will increase traffic and improve conversion and share of wallet with target customer segments
Assist leadership in the designing and implementing of innovative business solutions by defining strategies and tactics in order to optimize Aaron’s competitive position in all its markets
Identify and build recommendations for both organic and inorganic (M&A) expansion opportunities that will have a material impact on the business
Play a key role in due-diligence on potential acquisitions and in portfolio strategy for the entire company
Lead the market analysis of competitors, industry trends and other strategic issues as it relates to both specific business units and to Aaron’s overall
Act as an executive level thought-partner for major strategic considerations
Two to four years consulting at a top-tier management consulting firm
MBA or equivalent experience at a top tier management consulting firm
Consumer financing and / or retail industry experience valuable but not required
Strong strategic and analytical thinker. Entrepreneurial approach to solving problems and in conducting research
Ability to define and manage multiple strategic projects toward deliverables and timelines
Work collaboratively, influence and build consensus across internal teams
Strong research, interviewing and financial modeling skills
Strong communication and presentation skills
Occasional travel required - less than 25%
Must be able to communicate effectively, be customer service focused, and well organized
