In this role, we have the opportunity to consider multiple career levels.Responsibilities:In this role, you will work with enrolled actuaries to prepare, analyze, research, and communicate actuarial services for defined benefit pension plans of small/moderate size and moderate difficulty. Use technical skills to do research and calculations. You will also be responsible for valuation reports and accounting disclosure work, as well as consulting with defined benefit clients on their retirement needs.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in mathematics, actuarial science or related field, or equivalent work experience.Good analytical, communication, organizational and prioritization, and decision-making skills.Ability to complete detailed work accurately.Knowledge of actuarial mathematics is preferred, which could include probability and statistics, numerical analysis, and compound interest.Knowledge of spreadsheet and database or similar PC software packages including Excel and Access, or the ability to learn, is preferred.Aptitude in programming languages is preferred.Defined Benefit experience is preferred.Job Level:Willing to consider at a higher job level if qualified.Employee Referral:Click on "Email to a Friend" to notify a friend or family member of this opportunity.Background Check Requirements:Employment at Principal is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.Visa Sponsorship:This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization by Principal.
