Job Description Details:

Under the Direction of the Medical Director, the Optometrist performs ocular examinations on patients of all ages for the purpose of the detection of diseases of the eye and defects in vision. In instances of patients with significant ophthalmic pathology, management decisions should be made through consultation with the appropriate provider; otherwise the optometrist will formulate the final appropriate treatment decision.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate from an accredited College of Optometry, with a Doctor of Optometry degree. Current Georgia State Board of Optometry license and certification. Bilingual in Spanish an advantage. Familiarity and experience in treating medically underserved and immigrant populations, including dealing with patients of diverse backgrounds, with experience in treating the homeless preferred.
