The aeroderivative Gas Turbine Technician will perform hands-on field service work on aeroderivative General Electric Turbines LM2500, LM6000 and LMS100. The work includes but is not limited to borescope inspections, blade work, combustion/hot section replacements,

engine swaps, and other types of maintenance tasks. Prospective candidates must have had previous proven experience on LM aero turbines

NOTE. Prospective candidates should reside near a major international airport within the US west region, strongly preferred candidates residing in the Bakersfield, or California. Extensive travel is required with this position


  • Will work as part of a team during, change outs, maintenance, and repair of Aeroderivative Gas Turbines (LM2500, LM6000, lms100)

  • Use hand tools and small power tools to conduct general maintenance of GE Aeroderivative Gas Turbines

  • Troubleshoot complicated mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch, variable speed turbines

  • Help in all areas of site as directed by manager or lead supervisor

  • Perform all mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component maintenance, repair or replacement of parts to as directed

  • Work effectively as part of a team of technicians

  • Process timesheets, expense reports, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) forms, and job reports in a timely manner

  • Comply with all EHS policies and procedures to ensure a safe and productive work siteKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Fluent in English

  • Must have experience doing field work within the power generation industry

  • Sound experience working with GE Aeroderivative Gas Turbines ( lm2500, lm6000, Lms100)

  • Able to understand and implement technical procedures

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Effective interpersonal and organizational skills


  • Must be able and willing to work weekly schedules that are not uniform on a day-to-day basis

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to climb ladders and stepsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of an Associate’s degree in aircraft engine or turbine technology or equivalent military training

  • 2+ years of work as a mechanical technician on aircraft engines, aero-derivative engines or other types of turbine technology

  • Must be willing to travel on short notice and for long periods of time as needed
