Company Job ID-170613The Manager IT is responsible for overseeing a team of Release Managers and Database Administrators in support of multiple applications at a multi-billion dollar enterprise. This position is accountable for driving process, consistency and scalability of the Release process and Database administration. The Manager provides leadership and strategic direction for the lifecycle and is responsible for leading technical staff, both employees and consultants. . The teams will often work with COX internal operations teams as well as Oracle On Demand to deliver the end to end lifecycle. The COX Automotive platforms are built on the Oracle E-Business Application Suite with complex integrations built on the Oracle SOA Suite. This role requires a thorough understanding of business functions and processes, an in-depth understanding of the organization's technology portfolio and capabilities, as well as external options. Job Responsibilities:Responsible for managing all aspects of both teams daily activities.Facilitates planning the release, review targeted release content and release plansMake best practices and improvement recommendations on release processes and database processesMonitor the schedule and quality of the release with participating projects in meeting milestone requirementsMonitor readiness for each subsequent phase of the releaseManage the design, implementation, and support of database, strategies and solutions.Ensure compliance with all internal policies with respect to data protection.Define and execute a database strategy and supporting roadmap that keeps the database ecosystem in harmony with evolving technology and business conditionsProactively manage database health and lead efforts to isolate, triage and resolve database system issues as they ariseLiaise at a management level between Application Development, QA Testing, Engineering, Architecture and Operations as needed to ensure team coordination, synergy, and successful project delivery.Partners with cross-functional departments to manage rollout schedules and technology releases ensuring business needs are supported in all phases throughout the processCommunicates equally well with business owners, customers, and technology professionalsAccountable for performance goal creation, documented reviews, as well as successful completion of all team goals. Lead, coach, mentor and develop all reporting resources utilizing development plans, performance notes, or any other approved HR toolsFacilitate team communication to ensure environment availability as releases are being implemented according to scheduleSupervises, coordinates, provides leadership to and reviews the work of managerial and senior professional level subordinates.Evaluates change processes, anticipates problems, and makes suggestions to optimize effectiveness and efficiency.Seizes every opportunity to exceed customer expectations with the goal of building business through long-term, loyal relationships.Builds and draws upon internal and external networks to drive business initiatives forward.Manages team resources appropriately by effectively utilizing the strengths and individual work styles of team members.Establishes clearly defined developmental plans for key people and follows up regularly to ensure progressTranslates the department's objectives into individual goals and activities.Displays strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of management.QualificationsB.S. Degree required. B.S. degree in computer science, information systems, finance/accounting or related area preferred.3+ years of prior management experience required. 4+ years of successful software delivery lifecycle6+ years of computer science or technology experience preferred.Preferred to have understanding of the DB Administrative role or similar experience Administrating Applications Preferred to have understanding of release management or project managementC
