Employment Attorney Job Tracking ID: 75019-239804 Job Location: Atlanta, GA Job Level: Any Level of Education: Any Job Type: Full-Time/Regular Date Updated: February 15, 2017 Years of Experience: Any Starting Date: ASAP Job Description:ResponsibilitiesIn-house Counsel will advise the Company and provide legal support on a range of claims and litigated matters, act as primary liaison with Human Resources regarding employment and human resources-related issues, including Title VII, Family Medical Leave Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and other federal and state employment laws, as well as handling matters such as employment agreements, independent contractor/employee classifications and other matters and projects as assigned by the Deputy General Counsel. In addition, this role will oversee the Company's Compliance Program. The position is responsible for establishing standards and procedures to reduce illegal, unethical and improper conduct, for ensuring these standards are communicated and institutionalized throughout the Company, including training, and for monitoring the Company's compliance with these standards and procedures.Knowledge and ExperienceLitigation and Claims ManagementSignificant experience with pre-suit claim evaluation with a demonstrated record of litigation avoidance.Substantive knowledge of Motion and Discovery Practice to include E-discovery and litigation hold processes.Experience with accurate Budgeting of Expense and Exposure, managing and reporting on Budget Status and Reserves EmploymentExperience with defense of EEO claims at the federal and state level, including investigation, preparation of statements of position, on-site investigations and conciliation efforts.Expertise in all areas of employment law with particular emphasis on Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA and wage and hour laws.Oversight and management of outside counsel, including litigation.Work with Human Resources in preparation and training programs and development of employee policies.Experience interacting with and advising corporate officers and senior management on legal matters relating to employees.Negotiating and drafting employment agreements, non-compete and severance agreements. ComplianceExperience developing, reviewing, maintaining and updating company compliance policies and procedures to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk of illegal, unethical or improper conduct, as well as supervising day-to-day implementation across multiple departments.Experience identifying changes in applicable rules, regulations, standards and related trends that are relevant to a compliance program and make necessary modifications to policies and procedures.Experience interacting with corporate officers and senior management on matters relating to operation, performance and progress of compliance efforts, including undertaking periodic compliance audits.Experience designing and executing education and training programs for employees whose functions or responsibilities involve compliance with laws or standards of conduct, including introductory training for new employees and ongoing training for all employees and directors.
