Who is Georgia-Pacific?Watch to find out!A day in the life of an Electrical Design Engineer:Overview of the role:Reports to the Gypsum Division Electrical ManagerThe position adds value by providing leadership in the development and support of divisional electrical systems through the development and execution of large and small improvement projects.Provide advanced expertise to solve problems and implement changes by developing scope, estimating costs, designing, constructing, purchasing and installing new, or modifying existing, equipment and systems that support the improvement of safety, efficiency, reliability, waste reduction and increased machine utilization.Ensure all activities conform to Market Based Management (MBM) and the Company'sGuiding Principles.Key Responsibilities:Provide timely and effective support to operations.Provide guidance to manufacturing operations on selection and implementation of electrical and process controls technologies.Design and implement value creating industrial process and motor controls on capital projects of varying magnitude utilizing divisional standards.Assist in the implementation of division engineering standards and participate in facility evaluations for technical improvements.Work with plant based personnel, corporate engineering groups, and external consultants to ensure the proper execution of Large and Small Projects utilizing the appropriate work processes and divisional standards.Pursue engineering solutions to repetitive equipment deficiencies.Lead the division on the development and implementation of electrical documentation and a management of change process for electrical modifications.What You Will Need:Basic Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalentFive (5) or more years of demonstrated power, controls, andelectrical design experience in an industrial environmentThree (3) or more years of design experience using AutoCADAble and willing to travel nationally approximately 35%of the timeDemonstrated electrical, process controls, and project experience including scope and estimate developmentDemonstrated technical writing capabilities (e.g. Engineering/Project Scopes of Work, Project funding proposals, Standard Operating Procedures, Management of Change documents, etc.)Able and willing to work in a manufacturing environment, including periods of time in noisy, dusty, non-air conditioned or unheated areas.What Will Put You Ahead?Preferred Qualifications:Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems, or Design/DraftingEight (8) or more years of demonstrated power, controls, and electrical design experience in an industrial environmentKnowledgeable of electrical safety standards, NEC and NFPA 70-EWhy Work For GP?Aculturethat places top priority on integrity and complianceOpportunity for career growth at one of the largest, financially stable companies in the worldEncouragement tochallengethe status quo and share knowledgeResponsibilities and rewards based on contributionsContinuedcompany growthdue to reinvesting 90% of our earningsCompetitive pay and benefits that help you manage your personal and financialwellnessWant to learn more aboutGeorgia-Pacific?Georgia-Pacific and its subsidiaries are among the world's leading manufacturers and marketers of tissue, paper-based packaging, office papers, cellulose, specialty fibers, non-woven fabrics, building products and related chemicals.
