Delta Air Lines, Inc. DMS Director Financial Analysis in Atlanta, Georgia

The Director- Financial Analysis will lead a team responsible for all financial analyses for DMS, including asset sales and acquisitions, leases, fleet optimization and other financial analyses. The Director will oversee the development and maintenance of all financial models used to evaluate potential asset transactions. In addition to overseeing the use of these models by the team of analysts, the Director could be asked to directly execute these models, or create new models, to perform more complex analyses. The Director is also responsible for the development of executive level summary presentations to secure funding approval of each transaction. This position is also responsible for creating and supporting ad-hoc analysis to assist in strategic decision making within DMS and Delta.

In performing this role, the Director will coordinate extensively with Delta Tech Ops to confirm assumptions used in the evaluation modeling. This position requires strong analytical capabilities with the ability to gain a deep understanding of DMS financial models and Tech Ops cost drivers. Effective communication and collaboration across the DMS organization and with Delta's Finance and Technical organization is critical to success. Continual improvement of modeling tools and methods is a basic expectation.

This position is based in Atlanta, GA and will report to the DMS Vice President- Finance.

Primary Functions

Oversees a team of analysts and participates in the construction and maintenance of all financial models to ensure optimum use of capital.

Coordinates with Tech Ops departments to quantify the benefits of asset purchase and sales.

Continually reviews market data and other model assumptions to ensure that models produce accurate results.

Develops presentations to justify the capital spend.

Ensures that acquisitions meet or beat corporate standards and thresholds.

Coordinates with Delta finance for efficient and timely review and approvals.

Provides ad-hoc analysis and complex modeling for DMS and DL Fleet including fleet optimization scenarios and leasing activity.

Ensure that model results are understood and that the transactions pursued are consistent with the analysis performed and justifications provided.

Bachelor's degree in business (e.g., finance, accounting, management) MBA highly desired.

Minimum ten years of experience in finance or related discipline required.

Previous experience in an aviation technical organization a significant plus.

Prior managerial experience required, with a track record of demonstrated initiative and success in a team environment.

Ability to think and plan strategically, with a strong basis in finance and accounting principles.

Able to deal with ambiguity and define the appropriate analysis to address the opportunity

Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

Must be highly proficient in written and oral communications and able to produce concise documents and presentations for senior management

Appropriately handles confidential information, requires minimal supervision and should be able to work under strict deadlines and on multiple projects concurrently.
