This role is responsible for strategic thought leadership, direction and development of social media and digital content for the Popeyes brand. The director is responsible for ongoing management of owned social media and digital platforms and advocates for action and healthy risk taking for the Popeyes brand. The Director must possess strong project management, communication, analytical and creative problem solving skills, plus demonstrate the ability to adapt to change and collaborate with others in a fast-paced environment.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

5+ years digital marketing experience, specifically including developing and executing overall strategy, creating social/digital content and data analysis. Prefer digital marketing experience in the QSR or beverage industry. Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising or related field, MBA preferred. Experience and success in managing schedules, deadlines and logistics. Microsoft office proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with social media management and analytics tools.

Able to shift easily between strategy, creative, community management and analytics.

Digital thought leadership, and subject matter expertise on digital platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, Snapchat.

Proven ability to educate and influence multiple levels of organization about social media and digital content.

Demonstrates passion for social media and has leveraged a deep understanding of the landscape to create effective brand digital and social media programs.

Knowledge of digital content production, implementation and distribution process.

Adept with use of analytics to uncover and leverage insights and opportunities.

Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.

Positive attitude, curiosity and passion for continuous learning.

Is able to work independently as well as build strong relationships with internal clients, external agencies and vendors.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Partner with marketing and agency stakeholders to develop the social media and digital content strategy in alignment with the integrated marketing plan globally.

  • Manage the agency relationship and oversee the digital content development process from the initial briefing through content production and implementation.

  • Lead digital approval process with internal cross functional team to ensure alignment around integrated messaging priorities, creative design and brand standards.

  • Manage the ongoing maintenance of all owned social and digital platforms, including timely interaction and response to consumers within social channels, including business continuity issues.

  • Establish KPI’s and track performance of social media platforms and digital content.

  • Analyze and generate management reports on social media and site performance.

  • Evaluate and optimize consumer experience across multiple digital channels and guest touchpoints.

  • Draft communication for Point of View, Franchisee and Field regarding social media and digital content strategies and tactics when applicable.

  • Assist in the preparation of presentations to the Marketing Action Council (MAC) and DMA (co-op) planning meetings.

  • Lead on-going review and analysis of competitive social media and digital content activity.

  • Proactively identify actionable opportunities for digital innovation and improvement.

  • Assist on ancillary digital and marketing projects as assigned.
