Our Automation and Controls Specialist are instrumental in building long term customer relations, solving problems and making recommendations to improve customer's systems. You will develop, test, validate and commission building HVAC, lighting, monitoring systems and components. If you are familiar with protocols such as HTTP, XML/SOAP, SNMP or BACnet, then this may be the opportunity you are looking for!DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSDiagnose and repair HVAC control systems malfunctionsConduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning and servicing of HVAC Control Systems.Respond to HVAC / Refrigeration system emergencies during off hoursInitiates measures to improve equipment performance, methods and quality of workMaintains tools, supplies and / or equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of these items and that they are constantly in a safe and operable conditionPrepares documentation (service records, work performed and etc.) for the purpose of providing written support and / or conveying of information.BASIC QUALIFICATIONSExtensive knowledge of a variety of electronic and digital controls systems and experience to test and write modifications in multiple languages of systems software.Ability to work with DCS and PLC systemsApplied knowledge of process instrumentation and continuous process control.Ability to apply automation solutions and troubleshoot complex problems on highly automated equipment to address business needsWorking knowledge of: operation, maintenance, installation, and repair of both commercial and residential HVAC / refrigeration equipment and control equipment / software.Strong controls background with any of the following BAS Controls: Tridium, Trane, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Siemens, Apogee, BacNet, Metasys, Alerton, and Andover.Knowledge of: computerized electrical circuits and systems as they relate to HVAC / R; HVAC / R controls (electronic, pneumatic, and digital direct); materials and refrigerant recovery equipment; refrigerants and ability to interpret internal system pressure; AC / DC circuits.Advanced mechanical skills and ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and operate PC at an intermediate level (operate Building Automation Systems).High school diploma or GEDPREFERED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in related fieldKNOWLEDGE,SKILLS, ABILITIES AND CHARACTERISTICSLeadership skills to support the activities of HVAC technicians working on non-complex, non-critical Building Automation equipment.Ability to work as part of a team, and be able to present a professional, positive and helpful attitude at all times when interacting with customers and co-workers.Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and othersMust be a self-starter, with ability to work well as part of a team and independentlyWillingness to market and promote serviceWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.Work environment involves moderate exposure to construction warehouse hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.Moderate physical effort.
