This position will lead large multifunctional development activities alongside team members working in an agile environment to enhance and maintain a leading software platform in the identity management space. The candidate will work primarily with the popular Java open source technologies, including Spring (core Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring JDBC), JQuery, Tomcat, JUnit, and Maven as well as ancillary technologies including MySQL, SOAP, REST and LexisNexis’ proprietary big data solution.

This position will provide architectural guidance on projects and serves as a senior source of expertise. The candidate will be comfortable communicating technical concepts to audiences of varying technical background, including management. The candidate will be part of a rotating team providing 24/7 technical support for our product.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Java J2EE Software Engineering experience

  • BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required; advanced degree preferred

  • Experience with database design and development

  • Solid verbal and written communication skills

Technical Skills

  • Software development process expert in applicable methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall). Expertise in data modeling, design and manipulation, optimization, best practices, tuning, and leading industry trend knowledge.

  • Expertise in test-driven development and maintenance including techniques for applying best practices for overall project benefit.

  • Proven expert in partnering and leading internal and external technology resources in solving complex business needs.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong knowledge in industry best practices in external resource development.

  • Solid knowledge of architectural principles.

  • Expertise in development languages and technologies including but not limited to: Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, and UNIX.

  • Strong organization/project planning, time management, and change management skills across multiple functional groups and departments, and strong delegation skills involving prioritizing and reprioritizing projects and managing projects of various size and complexity.

  • Advanced problem-solving experience involving leading teams in identifying, researching, and coordinating the resources necessary to effectively troubleshoot/diagnose complex project issues; prior success extracting/translating findings into alternatives/solutions; and identifying risks/impacts and schedule adjustments to facilitate management decision-making.

Advance communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills. Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills applicable to a wide audience including senior and executive management, customers, etc., including diction/terminology and presenting information in a concise and effective manner to clients, management, and various departments using assorted communication mediums.

Accountabilities

  • Coordinate and collaborate with technology and business stakeholders, including gathering and determining feasibility of customer requirements.

  • Recommend technical strategy, participate in evolution of architecture, design solutions, and build and integrate the implementation.

  • Set expectations for monitoring and feedback systems and review performance trends.

  • Communicate technical information successfully with technical and non-technical audiences such as third party vendors, external customer technical departments, various levels of management and other relevant parties

  • Serve as acknowledged go to person on coding and technical issues.

  • Complete complex bug fixes.

  • Mentor lead software developers interested in consultancy on development methodologies and optimization techniques.
