What you’ll be doing...
The Analyst – Pricing Reference Data is responsible for following established structural design models and processes to support existing product maintenance, inactive pricing models, streamline equipment discounting establishment and any process centric reference data models using existing reference data tables following data governance and standards. The Analyst shall maintain product specific process documentation oriented toward business intent, and how the reference data design process fits into the wider scheme of the business and update ongoing maintenance strategy.
The Analyst shall demonstrate intermediate knowledge of billing system functionality and table inter-relationships and use that understanding to write simple SQL commands to query a large volume of data from diverse sources with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency to evaluate the consequence of action or inaction on the tables. The Analyst is expected to be an expert in what data is available, how to interpret it and to work cross functionally to implement analytic tools and automated solutions.
The Analyst shall lead Reference Data on existing pricing and device offers using existing VISION table architecture from concept to launch following set standards and processes. The Analyst will ensure the efficacy of reference data table structure, and reference data table content, to achieve the desired result, in all matters affecting the subject area.
The Analyst shall manage more than one process-related project at a time and be able to communicate only relevant information in an effective manner. The Analyst exerts influence in determining design methodology and must have the critical thinking skills and business acumen to effectively plan and execute his/her work.
Candidate must be willing to travel and be available to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or one or more years of work experience.
One or more years of relevant work experience.
Business analysis experience
Knowledge of Excel and Word.
Even better if you have:
One or more years of experience writing intermediate SQL commands to query Teradata or Oracle databases.
Access and VZW data warehouse; SQL knowledge.
Experience supporting pricing end-user database tables and CPI.
Experience using reference data as a component job function.
Demonstrated organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
Knowledge of wireless billing and rating systems, particularly the VISION billing system.
Knowledge of Agile methodology.
Ability to negotiate with IT and other business teams to satisfy reference data needs.
An investigative mind-set with attention to detail, a tenacity of thought, the flexibility to adapt to new challenges and the resiliency to overcome short-term hurdles by staying focused on the deliverables.
A passion for working with large databases including understanding the data, understanding how the data works, a thrill for establishing coherent, quality table content to address business problems and needs.
Experience with ACSS, Data Warehouse, TSO/DB2 and Loader Shell is a plus.
