Position Summary

Responsible for the control of certain accounts and records in assigned projects. Works with Project Managers, and Telecom Management Team to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of financial information. Interfaces with financial team in areas of AP and AR to ensure correct application of expenses and receivables. Monitors projects to assess financial health and assist PM in determining ETC and EAC each month based on work remaining. Ensures all records are maintained in accordance with accounting standards and controls.

Technical/Functional Responsibilities:

  • Reviews documents, such as vouchers, invoices, cash receipts, and purchase orders, for completeness and accuracy.

  • Reviews details in system to ensure proper application of the documents.

  • Audits records, prepares or verifies bills, invoices, and rates for preparation of AR.

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to record transactions, prepares ad hoc reports, and reviews and verifies the accuracy of information contained in the project.

  • Reviews project reports and ETC each month with PM. Prepares and disburses Summary Package of reports for monthly OPR review by management.

  • Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting policies and procedures

  • Works with Telecom Accounting team to provide information to both internal personnel and external auditors.

  • Works with PM to prepare cost estimates and other information for marketing and planning

Qualifications

  • A degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience required

  • 6 years experience in Project Accounting is preferred

  • A self-starter with a determination to get the job done

  • Strong customer focus

  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret, reconcile and report findings on large volumes of data

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Multi-task oriented with ability to prioritize tasks

  • Highly organized with an ability to maintain proper records

  • Strong written and verbal skills

  • Advanced Excel skills preferred

  • Experience with Peoplesoft preferred
