Job Summary

The customer service position will be responsible for ensuring that all customer and sales needs related to product selection/options are met. This role’s primary responsibilities will include all aspects of Sales support, internal and external. This role will be expected to promptly address any customer requests, quotations, orders, questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner. The overall purpose of this role is to support the Oldcastle Enclosure Solutions vision of being the industry leader enhancing the overall Customer Experience. This position will work closely with Sales, Manufacturing, Production Planning, Accounting, Marketing, Transportation and Purchasing.

Essential Duties

  • Responsible for ensuring superior and consistent levels of customer service as to meet company objectives which include, but are not limited to: positive customer interaction, quote and order entry accuracy, on-time delivery

  • Responsible for responding to incoming calls, ability to handle multiple calls simultaneously, multitasking between calls, quotes, orders, emails, etc

  • Enter, process and follow up on customer quotes and orders

  • Develop relationships with new and existing customers

  • Verify product availability and alternate shipping locations

  • Processes new customer applications, submit paperwork

  • Processes customer issues and complaints

  • Creates and enters Return Merchandise Authorizations

  • Calculates customer pricing utilizing List Price and Customer Discount

  • Verifies product availability, substitution and alternate shipping locations

  • Resolves customer, Independent Sales Rep, and Regional Sales Manager issues

  • Provides customers with Spec Sheets, Price Lists, and other documentation as requested

  • Post Audit Calls – to customers to follow up on orders and service

  • Process Trade Show and sample orders

  • Back-up for other locations customer service personnel as needed

  • Follows and enforces all company safety policies and guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in either a call center, manufacturing plant or distribution facility customer service group

  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment is a plus

  • Knowledge of data entry and/or tracking systems

  • Degree in Business or related field –preferred

  • High level of computer proficiency in Windows environment

  • Detail oriented, demonstrated initiative to point out issues and to make corrective recommendations

  • Proven problem solver and ability to negotiate as related to the Sales function

Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands

  • Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer

  • Ability to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
